Wendy Goudie - Sparkle Dance Director
Wendy Goudie is an award-winning dancer and choreographer renowned for fostering community, confidence and collaboration through dance. In 2018, she was honored with the Arts Educator Award by the Penticton and District Arts Council to recognize her significant contributions to arts education.
Wendy is dedicated to teaching and performing International dance styles that promote cultural unity and joy to people of all ages and abilities. In 2024, the Juno Awards Committee hired Wendy to choreograph a multicultural flash mob in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Wendy and the Sparkle Dancers also teach and perform at public schools, retirement homes, multicultural events, festivals and weddings.
In 2018, Wendy taught and performed throughout India with Sparkle Dance Instructor Elaina Collis. Together, they performed seventeen dance shows in eight cities. During their tour, they also trained at nine different dance schools that specialize in Bollywood, Bhangra and Kathak dancing. Wendy also has training in Ballet, Belly Dancing, Salsa, Flamenco, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Jazz.
Along with running Sparkle Dance, Wendy is also Head Coach of the Digby Gymnastics Club. Wendy also teaches yoga classes on her website SeniorsYogaOnline.com – and local yoga classes at Muddy Duck Yoga.
Whether she’s teaching dance, coaching gymnastics, or instructing yoga, Wendy’s mission remains the same: to help people feel strong, confident, and connected through movement.

John Goudie - DJ Sparkle & Creative Arts Producer
John Goudie aka “DJ Sparkle” – creates the behind-the-scenes magic at Sparkle Dance. From producing our inspiring music to deejaying our special events, John brings Sparkle Dance performances to life!
John’s creativity also goes beyond music. He’s also the official photographer and videographer for Sparkle Dance. At every show, John captures the special moments and milestone for the Sparkle Dancers to share with their families. John and his wife Wendy also teach Couples Salsa Dancing at Sparkle Dance.
As a graduate of the Recreation Management Program at Canadore College, John has a wealth of experience running youth and teen programs at the YMCA and Saanich Commonwealth Place in BC.
Together, John and Wendy co-founded the Sparkle Dance Academy to share the joy of dance with people of all ages and abilities.
