Sparkle Dance Co-Founders
Wendy Goudie - Director of Sparkle Dance & Head Coach of Digby Gymnastics Club
Wendy Goudie is an award-winning dancer and choreographer who is dedicated to teaching world-dance styles that promote unity to people of all ages and cultures. In 2024, the Juno Awards Committee hired Wendy to choreograph a multicultural flash mob in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 2018, she was honored with the Arts Educator Award by the Penticton and District Arts Council to recognize her outstanding contributions to arts education.
In 2018, Wendy taught and performed throughout India alongside Sparkle Dance Instructor Elaina Collis. Together, they performed 17 dance shows in 8 cities. During their dance tour, they trained at 9 different dance schools that specialize in Bollywood, Bhangra and Kathak dancing. Wendy has also trained with a number of renown dance instructors in Ballet, Belly Dancing, Salsa, Flamenco, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Jazz.
Along with running the Sparkle Dance Academy, Wendy is also Head Coach of the Digby Gymnastics Club. Wendy also teaches yoga classes on her website SeniorsYogaOnline.com – and local yoga classes at Muddy Duck Yoga. Whether she’s teaching dance, yoga or gymnastics, Wendy’s mission is “to help people feel strong, confident and connected through movement.”

John Goudie - Recreation Director & Creative Arts Producer
As a graduate of the Recreation Management Program at Canadore College, John has over 35 years experience running programs for youth and teens including at the YMCA and Saanich Commonwealth Place. Together, John and Wendy co-founded the Sparkle Dance Academy to share the joy of dance with people of ages and abilities.
John aka “DJ Sparkle” also creates the behind-the-scenes magic at Sparkle Dance. From producing inspiring dance show music to deejaying our special events, John brings Sparkle Dance performances to life! Further as the official photographer and videographer of Sparkle Dance, John captures the special memories at our events for dancers to share with their families.
John is excited to serve as the Facility Coordinator at the new Sparks Community Centre – home of Sparkle Dance Academy and Digby Gymnastics Club.
